On flat ground, a companion positioned behind the luginaute is sufficient to ensure the mobility of the device.
He then pushes the chair attached to the Sled.
Two companions are required.
Using a pulling harness, one pulls the Sled. The second is equipped with the lifeline. He stands behind the wheelchair to ensure the boat's safety.
Like the ascent, the descent requires two attendants. These are positioned behind the Sled. One, equipped with a traction lanyard, is responsible for controlling the speed of descent, while the other, equipped with a lifeline, ensures the safety of the whole. Here too, the maximum gradient is 20% (or 11°).
The LUGICAP SNOW is configured to accommodate 3 or 4-wheel wheelchairs, as well as children's strollers. The wheelchair is secured to the Sled by straps.
NB: LUGICAP SNOW is delivered assembled, ready to be put on and adjusted.
Whatever installation configuration you choose (wheelchair or ergonomic seat), a support harness and lifeline are automatically supplied.
Lugicap equipment comes with a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
When you make this claim, the equipment is examined by Lugicap's experts, before it is replaced by our teams.

Standard
The LUGICAP SNOW is a Sled designed for walking on snow. It can accommodate manual wheelchairs with 3 or 4 wheels.
LUGICAP SNOW is an upgradeable piece of equipment. The "Ice Kit" allows you to transform your Sled snow touring snow into Sled for ice skating !
LUGICAP packing cartons are built to last, so you can store your equipment efficiently.
LUGICAP SNOW uses skis with standard bindings (skis supplied by LUGICAP). Skis are factory-adjusted by LUGICAP to ensure compatibility with Sled. Bindings correspond to ski boot size 42. They are already adjusted and tightened to the maximum.
1. Position skis parallel on flat ground 2. Engage the front shoes of the Sled in the front bindings of the skis.
3. Check that ski bindings are in the "ready-to-boot" position
4. Push the rear of the Sled down to engage the rear ski bindings 5. Check that the skis are properly fitted (as with any ski fitting, the front and rear shoes must be correctly engaged in the bindings).
Wheel stops should be adjusted according to the wheel diameter of the wheelchair to be loaded. The larger the wheel, the further apart the stops should be. Conversely, the smaller the wheel, the closer the stops should be.
1. Loosen the knobs A to release the stops B.
2. Adjust the stops B, then manually tighten A to the maximum. 3. Repeat the operation on both sides of the Sled
1. Loosen handles C* by a quarter-turn to release wheel flanges D. Bring both flanges D to the center of the platform to leave plenty of room for the wheelchair to pass through.
*Handles are indexable. By lifting the black part, it can be repositioned without affecting clamping.
2. The attendant stops the Sled by activating the parking brake with his foot. Depending on the type of snow (packed, powder or ice), the brake can be lowered more or less, locking into one of the 4 depth-adjustment notches.
3. The attendant presents the wheelchair with its back to the front of the equipment in preparation for docking.
4. The attendant tips the wheelchair onto its rear wheels and boards the Sled
5. The rear wheels of the wheelchair fit into the previously set wheel stops.
*Handles areindexable. By lifting the black part, it can be repositioned without affecting clamping.
6. Adjust wheel flanges D against the inside of the wheelchair wheels. Tighten handles C* firmly (manual tightening only) to secure the assembly (repeat on both sides).
The wheelchair is now held laterally.

3. Check again that all 3 straps are tight and that the wheelchair is now firmly secured to the Sled.
4. Before setting off, release the parking brake by hand using the upper lever (Fig.4.1).

While working, check regularly that the straps are always taut.
Replace the straps on your equipment with original LUGICAP straps every 5 years or if they start to fray (after very intensive use or prolonged exposure to UV rays and bad weather).
To enjoy the experience 100%, in a safe environment, you need to be properly secured and supported in the wheelchair. We strongly recommend the use of a harness to support the disabled person in his or her seat. The one we offer is easy to use, adjustable and safe (see the "Safety accessories" chapter).
4. The attendant lifts the wheelchair by its handles to disengage it from the stops.
Depending on experience and comfort, we recommend that you board your wheelchair with the help of 2 attendants (one at the back of the wheelchair, the other at the front), to ensure safe disembarkation.
To remove the skis from the platform, push on the rear bindings as shown below.
LUGICAP makes new activities possible and safe for disabled wheelchair users.
This requires the use of a lifeline.
We also recommend the use of a safety harness.
The lifeline connects the rider's wrist to the boat as shown.
So even if the attendant leaves the wheelchair, it's still connected to the boat.
The lifeline must remain in place for the duration of the activity, even when stationary.
The Lugicap traction lanyard is designed to tow (uphill) or hold (downhill) a Lugicap Snow in optimum safety conditions. The lanyard is connected to the Sled via the Sled traction rings.
The harness is passed through the wheelchair handles to form 2 anchoring points.
The safety harness must be perfectly adjusted using the adjustment buckles to keep the person with reduced mobility in their wheelchair.
This harness, of our own design (made in France), enables you to tow a LUGICAP SNOW efficiently.
Easy to use, efficient and comfortable, it will meet all your requirements.
To tow safely uphill, a second helper equipped with a lifeline must be positioned behind the wheelchair.
On descents, the 2 attendants position themselves at the rear of the Sled to control speed and stop the Sled when necessary.
Our transport covers are custom-made by our local supplier.
